General Care

We only use the highest quality granite so your memorial will require minimal care. Nevertheless, there are a few things you can do to preserve its look and beauty.

All memorials should be cleaned periodically with a mild soap, water and a soft cloth or nylon brush.

Windex and paper towel may also be used on the polished surface of your memorial. This will help remove grass clippings, bird droppings, and tree sap that can accumulate on the surface.

If you purchased a black granite with an etching design, these can be cleaned with Windex and a soft cloth. It will not hurt the image on the memorial.

Other granites may require a little more work, especially on the rock surfaces. For the rough rock tops and edges of your memorial, we recommend using a nylon scrub brush and a mixture of Comet cleanser and water. Make a paste out of the Comet then apply to the rough surface, scrub with nylon brush then rinse thoroughly. DO NOT ALLOW THE CLEANSER TO DRY ON THE MEMORIAL.

Contact your memorial consultant before using any other type of cleanser, such as acids, bleaches, or other harsh chemicals. Doing so may void your warranty.

Never place mylar balloons near a granite memorial. If the balloon sticks to the heated surface of the granite, the image will transfer and cannot be removed.
